New York Jianghu is a feature documentary about the kung fu community of the five boroughs. Kung fu has meant something different for each generation since it left China and entered the streets of New York City. It was a means of putting food on the table, making dynamic action films, and now combating anti-Asian hate crimes in a rapidly-gentrifying New York.

The New York Jianghu is full of kung fu masters innovating their art. That includes an inheritor of Ip Man's lineage, the creator of the world's #1 martial arts magazine, a kung fu MMA champion, the man who's digitizing bodyguard training...and Tak Wah Eng, whose legendary kung fu school was a mainstay of Chinatown for decades.
